A Acrostic Poem For Respiration

Operation crapauduc

On 14 February 2011, the operation was launched Crapauduc for 4th year at the Pond in Southern Ramee Aisne. Hosted by the NFB
Picardie, this transaction will close in mid-April.

crapauduc Why?

At the end of winter, many amphibians begin their migration to their wintering area aquatic areas in which they mate: the prenuptial transit. Now there is a road too often deadly for many of them.

This device is introduced over a mile every morning, volunteers trained in detecting and handling amphibians come complete collection of these animals that blocked upstream release them immediately before the pond.

species encountered (frogs, toads, newts, salamanders) and their numbers are marked on a sheet of record, all these data can then establish the population characteristics of amphibians migrating to ponds La Ramee.

order to correlate weather and migration of amphibians, different data is also reported, as temperatures minimum and maximum, the general time and humidity.

reminder, 2008 had saved 4976 and amphibians. In 2009 the figure was 4939 and in 2010 it had risen to 7306.

We thank all the volunteers for their help.
