The
Literary Prize of 30 Million Friends, founded in 1982 and consists of Françoise Xenakis, Irene Frain, Anny Duperey, Reha Hutin, Didier Decoin and Robert Sabatier of the Goncourt Academy, Frederic Vitoux of the French Academy and Didier van Cauwelaert is awarded to a novel or literary quality test, where the animal is honored, whether or not the main subject of the work.
Lawrence Anthony has received a check worth 1,000 euros offered by the Fondation 30 Millions d'Amis with a mission to donate all the money to an environmental protection association animal of choice. The jury had met in the lounge "Goncourt" Drouant restaurant (23/11/10) to designate the new winner.
Lawrence Anthony is the founder of The Earth Organization (TEO), an international association for the protection of nature. Committed environmentalist, he fought to pass a resolution by the UN for the protection of fauna and flora in areas of conflict.
